DIVINO ENOTECA

Gorgeous Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar

One of my favourite places to visit in Edinburgh’s Old Town is Divino – you feel like you’ve been transported to a beautiful restaurant in Italy even just for the night…
It’s a little Italian haven where you can enjoy a glass of wine listening to some live jazz or as we experienced only a few weeks ago a special evening of ‘wine tasting’ – fun and educational! (thankyou Silvio)

Saturday night I was lucky to be back there again with family friends… it was a large group so we were extra lucky as we enjoyed dinner and ‘moreish’ wine in the private dining room.

There’s always a warm greeting on arrival at Divino and even though you are sitting in beautifully lit, extremely comfortable surroundings you feel very much at home so instantly relax.

The staff are all lovely and part of the ‘Divino experience’ – any question you may have on wine recommendations or specific ingredients mentioned on the menu are welcomed and you get the feeling they are genuinely happy and proud to be part of Divino..
If you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to be made to feel ‘special’ then this venue won’t disappoint.
Already looking forward to my next visit……
Enjoy…

(Enoteca (plural: Enoteche) is an Italian word, derived from the Greek word Οινοθήκη, which literally means ”wine repository” (from Oeno/Eno- Οινός “wine”, and teca Θήκη, “receptacle, case, box”), but is used to describe a special type of local or regional wine shop that originated in Italy.)
