Orange County Community Foundation Partners with Yard House Restaurants to Put a Charitable Spin on “Check, please!”

by Shelley 15. July 2009 20:15

I am thrilled to announce that the Orange County Community Foundation has joined Yard House Restaurants in a new philanthropic venture called Round It Up America™. The program offers Yard House patrons the opportunity to donate to local charities by rounding up their check to the nearest dollar. The remaining change benefits nonprofits performing vital work in our community.

Round It Up America™ is now in full swing at the Yard House’s Irvine Spectrum Center location and will roll out at all Yard House restaurants nationwide later this summer. Here in Orange County, three local charities have been selected to receive the proceeds from the program including: Share Our Selves, Mercy House and the Council on Aging.

Share Our Selves (
www.shareourselves.org) provides basic living essentials and emergency assistance to the impoverished and working poor; Mercy House (www.mercyhouse.net) aids homeless individuals and families through transitional and permanent housing and supportive services; and the Council on Aging (www.coaoc.org) empowers Orange County’s vulnerable and disabled adults with education and advocacy.

OCCF will manage the administration of Yard House’s Round It Up America™ fund by helping identify qualified nonprofits and distributing grants.

OCCF is delighted to be a partner in this innovative program and looks forward to supporting many deserving nonprofits as Round It Up gains speed. Join the movement… invite your family and friends to Yard House at Irvine Spectrum Center and Round It Up! For additional information or to make an online donation, please click here.
