OCCF Continues to Deliver on Our Mission

by Shelley 15. September 2009 22:06

In trying economic times such as these, our team at the Orange County Community Foundation knows that our work to encourage, support and facilitate philanthropy in Orange County is needed now more than ever. While the foundation has certainly been impacted by the recession, our mission delivery has never been stronger. I am thrilled to share with you a few exciting highlights from the past year:

- OCCF granting hit an all-time high in the year ended June 30, 2009. A total of $21.3 million was granted by OCCF over the past year, driven primarily by the generous response of OCCF donor advisors to the surge of needs in our community.
- OCCF launched its first community-wide campaign—“See the Need, Seed the Change”— which delivered $832,500 to 32 local nonprofit agencies providing food, shelter and critical aid to Orange County’s most vulnerable children, families, and elderly residents.
- OCCF has greatly expanded its hands-on outreach to local nonprofits through training, technical assistance, and more than 125 site visits where we provided guidance and feedback to help strengthen local organizations.

Thanks to all of our partners and friends for your continued commitment to support needs both here in Orange County and beyond.
