$832,500 Delivered to 32 O.C. Nonprofits

by Shelley 6. May 2009 17:00

I would like to thank all those that participated in our recent See the Need, Seed the Change community campaign.

In my nine years at the Orange County Community Foundation, I can tell you that no effort we have undertaken has meant as much to us or moved us as deeply as this process has, from start to finish.

Due to many generous contributions large and small, I’m delighted to report that we exceeded our goal by raising a total of $832,500! Because all program expenses were underwritten by OCCF, every dollar donated to See the Need, Seed the Change was distributed to nonprofits meeting critical needs.

At the grant award celebration on April 29, 32 exemplary Orange County nonprofit agencies received grants. Funding will support food pantries for families, meal programs for frail seniors, transitional housing and shelter assistance, job training for the unemployed and assistance for children at risk of abuse or neglect.

I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to those who supported See the Need, Seed the Change. You have truly exceeded even our highest hopes and expectations.
